Venita L. Jones is a Louisiana native who leads with a passion for empowering students, fostering academic excellence, and serving communities. She earned her bachelor's degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge and later received a Master of Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at Arlington.

Ms. Jones began her educational career at Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary School as a Math and Social Studies teacher before concluding her classroom teaching career at L.G. Pinkston High School.

She began her leadership journey as assistant principal at Leila P. Cowart Elementary School before transitioning to L.V. Stockard Middle School, where she served as assistant principal for four years. During her tenure at Stockard, Ms. Jones focused on strengthening instruction and increasing student achievement. Under her leadership, the campus earned a "B" accountability rating, received a Distinction in Mathematics, and was recognized as the #2 comprehensive middle school in Dallas ISD for school effectiveness.

Ms. Jones later became principal of Dr. Elba and Domingo Garcia West Dallas STEM School. During her first year, the campus earned an 88/B accountability rating and received four out of four academic distinctions. In her second year, the school continued its positive academic trajectory with a solid STAAR performance. Under her leadership, kindergarten through second- grade scholars demonstrated exceptional academic growth, including a 44-point increase in Mathematics and a 41-point increase in Reading on end-of-year i-Ready assessments.

Throughout her career, Ms. Jones has remained deeply committed to ensuring that every student has access to high-quality educational opportunities. Her educational philosophy is grounded in the unwavering belief that all scholars can learn and achieve at high levels when supported by a positive learning environment, strong instructional leadership, dedicated educators, engaged families, and a collaborative community. Ms. Jones is also a proud mother. Her daughter is a 2024 graduate of Irma Rangel Young Women's Leadership Academy and is currently a third-year student at The University of Texas at Austin.
